Steering Columns & Intermediate Shafts (CIS) connect the steering wheel to the steering mechanism to control lateral motion by transferring the driver’s input torque from the steering wheel. Steer-by-Wire

Our SmartDR Wheel™ Steering is an advanced steering software feature that is made possible by SbW. SmartDR Wheel™ Steering adds another level of safety, convenience and comfort for drivers by allowing the steering wheel to remain still during SAE ADAS Levels 2-5 maneuvers, as well as automated driving applications.

Power Tilt & Telescope

Our Power Tilt and Telescope Column allows quick, simple steering wheel position adjustment. Tilt and Telescope motors are accessed by a column-mounted toggle switch that allows the driver to effortlessly adjust the upper column and steering wheel to a desired position.

Stowable Steering Column

Our innovative Stowable Column fits a longer column – up to four to five times greater stow distance – into similar packaging space as a traditional column. We achieved this via an innovative design solution that considers requirements for stow speeds, vehicle packaging and sound level. Our Stowable Column also provides innovative solutions for crash safety, with ASIL-D steering column positioning.

Dual Pinion EPS

Dual Pinion-Assist EPS (DPEPS) allows for the primary pinion to be optimized for vehicle dynamics and performance and a secondary pinion to be optimized for assist. It also provides additional design flexibility to locate the motor, controller and assist mechanism opposite the driver side of the vehicle under-hood.

Capacity: 130Nm assist torque (15kN rack load depending on c-factor)

STAR Steering Column

STAR steering column is characterized by a pneumatic release, which guarantee maximum comfort in driving medium and heavy vehicles.

STAR PLUS Steering Column

STAR PLUS steering column is a STAR variation and it is characterized by a double pneumatic release, which provides grater steering wheel adjustment area, so it guarantees as much comfort as possible while driving medium-heavy vehicles.

COMPACT Steering Column

COMPACT steering columns are designed in order to offer practical adjustments, both in height and inclination within a small space.

TILT-TELE BOX Steering Column

TILT-TELE BOX steering columns are characterized by a mechanical release system, that works through a lever integrated in the body of the column.

FREYR steering column

FREYR steering column is a standard product, which can be fixed to the vehicle floor to provide maximum visibility from the driver’s seat
